owner and executive pastry chef
sherri is the owner of the pastry studio. she is a graduate of the institute of the south for hospitality and culinary arts and also holds a bachelor's degree from louisiana state university. in addition, sherri’s background includes studies at le cordon bleu in paris, the international sugar art collection in atlanta, and the french pastry school in chicago.
as a chef instructor, sherri has taught baking and pastry arts in the culinary departments at daytona state college and florida state college in jacksonville.
sherri opened the pastry studio in the summer of 1999. since then, her studio's cake designs have been featured in the knot, weddings illustrated, brides florida, grace ormonde wedding style, beautiful bride, several other notable magazines and multiple national blogs including preston bailey.
sherri has been a guest pastry chef on the hgtv series all in good taste, and she has also shared her talent on the pbs series picture this. furthermore, a wonderful six-tier showpiece cake design was featured on the food network, and another of the pastry studio's special cake designs has appeared on the mtv series, engaged and underaged.
as the pastry studio continues to grow, more and more of its award winning cake designs are recognized and published in esteemed magazines, on specialty blogs, and inspirational boards all over the world.
first assistant and pastry chef
rhonda joined the pastry studio in november of 2007. it did not take long to notice rhonda's strong skills in precision and creativity; i love her fresh approach and her kitchen experience.
rhonda directs daily operations in the pastry studio's kitchen. in addition to a lifetime of cooking and baking, rhonda is a graduate of the highly respected schoolcraft college of culinary arts in livonia, michigan.
her background includes work in fine dining restaurants, including seldom blues restaurant and supper club in detroit and the taste of the nfl event as part of superbowl xl in 2006. after relocating to central florida, rhonda served as gardé manger at deco in st. augustine before joining the pastry studio.
rhonda excels in her work on wedding and party cakes but specializes in hand-carved cakes from popular culture.
